Kolodny Family World Page

To keep our past and our heritage from being lost forever, we need to carefully document who we are and where we came from. As many of you already know, it is so easy to lose that history and so hard to gain it back.

Our family is scattered throughout the world. Some settled in the USA or Canada, others in Israel and South America (even Cuba). Each branch of the tribe has keep a little bit of their own history. We should unify and preserve as much history of the family as possible before even more forever gone.   This home page is now the beginning of a centralized repository for other members to use and to contribute to.  A great number of Kolodn*/Colodn*'s began their emmigration to other parts of the globe in the early 1900's and continued up until World War II.  From Europe, members of the family found a variety of routes (Germany, Poland, Spain, etc.) to America. Some entered via New York, others through Philadelphia or Baltimore. Members of the family have settled all over the country. Kolodn*/Colodn*'s can be found in nearly every major city in the USA.
So What About the Spelling?  I can only speculate from what I have learned so far. If any of you has additional information, please let me know. The name KOLODNY (means, I believe, either Cold Person or Cold in Russian). Many variations of spelling have been seen in family trees (KOLODNY, COLODNY, KOLODNEY, COLODNEY). The same is true for KOLODNER (COLODNER).   Please feel free to email any contributions to me. It would be extremely beneficial if you had birth dates, death dates, marriage dates (and there locations), spouses, children, grandparents etc.   Your input and additions to the tracing of the family are greatly appreciated. All comments and suggestions are welcomed.   If you know of other members of the family who are not connected to the cyperworld, please pass my name and address on to them.   I look forward to hearing from you.
